前言
21 世紀是中國旅游飛速發展的黃金時期。據世界旅游組織統計，2018 年我國已經成為全球最大的客源輸出國和第三大旅游目的地國。美麗多彩的中國以其嘆為觀止的自然景觀和人文景致吸引著無數中外游客。
本教材以向外國游人介紹中國主要的風景名勝為要旨。它的主要特點可概括為：內容新穎、資料翔實、語言簡練、練習多樣。它非常適合應用型本科和高職高專旅游管理、涉外旅游、旅游英語等專業學生使用，也可供有志于報考英文導游證書的考生參考。
本教材分為10個單元，按照英文導游的工作流程，將工作任務劃分為10 大模塊，即：機場迎客、致歡迎詞、沿途講解、送入酒店、自然景觀導游、人文景觀導游、飲食服務、娛樂服務、應急處理和機場送別等。每一個模塊結合一個省份的重點風景區進行講解，進而使得工作任務這一主線和景區講解這一輔線的有機結合。
本教材有10 個單元，每個單元均包含4 個部分：
第一部分（Section A）聽力訓練，包含該省區一個景點概述和景點對話；
第二部分（Section B）講解訓練，突出該省區主要旅游景點的講解；
第三部分（Section C）介紹導游講解方法。根據我國英語導游的實踐經驗，總結并提煉出具有中國特色的英語導游講解方法共10 種；
第四部分（Section D）實踐與練習。目的在于以較豐富的題型鞏固學生對課文內容的理解，同時也涵蓋了英語導游過程中應當注意的導游規范和應變處理的原則等。為學生從事實際的導游工作奠定良好的基礎。
此外，第一部分和第二部分配有錄音（請掃封底二維碼）。標準流利的美式英語將極大地方便學生仿讀和學習。
本教材除了正文之外，還有四項內容的附錄。主要有：
1. 中國的世界遺產名錄；
2. 旅游景點名稱翻譯；
3. 錄音稿；
4. 練習答案。
本書的主編楊義德和副主編魏微、蘇丹、賴璽婷等皆為從事旅游英語教學的資深一線教師，具有豐富的英文導游帶團和指導經驗。
